Well It's getting close now! Been slowly cleaning up the bike. I changed the oil about 300 miles ago and I think I'm just going to run this oil until I get back. My cheap little GPS took a dump but it was in it's last month of warranty so I sent it back. They fixed it for free and I got it back. I'm going to throw on my Saddle Bags and depending on how much stuff we bring will determine if I leave them on or take em off. My tires have about 2500 miles on them now and I'll see how well they hold up to the long super slab strait line ride. I'm sure I'll get a 2" flat spot for sure. Not riding in curves is a sure way to run the middle of your tread flat. Is there anything anyone wants me to pick up from down here before I leave? T-Shirt, etc?
Let me know!

Cool site I like the tunes alot!
Well we have the new rider here in town now for training! As soon as the weather clears we will saddle up his iron horse and get some well needed miles under his belt. He came with gear (really nice gear) and let's see if he take to it like a duck to water. Compared to other things he has done, this should be a piece of cake. There should be enough digital cameras on this ride to document it properly.

Anyone who wants to see if they want a 650 V-Strom is welcome to ride mine, around the block, couple hundred miles... doesn't matter to me. Maybe just for the curiosity because you never road one.
I'm trying to decide what gear I need to bring with me. One of the first things you do when you first start going on motorcycle adventures is over packing. I learned that on the camping trip. I didn't need half of what I took with me. This time I'll be more efficiant.... I hope! LOL

The baby bird rider is anxious to start riding. You guys have to promise not leave me too many miles behind you.

PS> Jim, I wouldn't mind test riding your bike around the block or something to try something different

So... If babybird is in the nest.. itsn't this a little early? I don't leave for a while yet!

Baby Bird needs practice rides - so he arrived early to try to get them in...

Unfortunately, baby bird wil probably be building an ark because all it does here is rain.

This is confusing for baby bird because in San Diego there is no rain from March until November.

Yeah, We need to come up with a good location. We don't need a time right now, just a location so mabye some planing could happen. Could be soon or could be next year, who knows.
